Jerry González

Jerry González is one of the leading figures in the world of Latin Jazz. This 6 time Grammy Nominated trumpeter/conguero is well known for his years of experience with jazz and Latin music giants such as Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Jaco Pastorius, Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri, as well as participant on four Grammy winning albums. However, it is as leader of "Jerry Gonzalez and the Fort Apache Band" that his status as one of music’s most innovative and influential voices became widely recognized. Following his portrayal in the movie "Calle 54" (by Oscar Winning Fernando Trueba) González’s fame took on international proportions and he decided to settle in Spain, where he became one of the pioneers of the fusion between Latin Jazz and flamenco with projects such as “Jerry González y Los Piratas del Flamenco” and numerous productive collaborations with musicians such as Diego “El Cigala”, Chano Domínguez, Paco de Lucía and Buika. In addition to his "Fort Apache Band", he leads the quartet "El Comando de la Clave” and his own big band, together with Miguel Blanco.
